    How to Use Air BnB

    Hello, Adventurers!

Many of you have probably at least heard of Air BnB, but I know not all of you have tried it, and I would venture to guess that most of you are probably slightly freaked out at the thought of staying in a stranger’s home. Fear No More! Follow this guide on the best ways to find the accommodation of your dreams.

Step 1: What is Most Important?

Is it location? Budget? Number of bathrooms? A shared space vs the whole house/apartment?

Step 2: Where Do You Want To Go?

This may seem pretty standard, but take location specifics into consideration. Do you want to be near a famous landmark? Train or bus stops? The beach? Try to narrow down the location if that is what seems to be important. You can drag your map to find the neighborhood that best suits your #vacationgoals

    Step 3: Dates of Travel?

Some accommodations will have 2 or 3 night minimums so that can help to narrow the range of options

Step 4: The Amount of People?

You need to tell the website not only how many people, but how many beds you need. Realize too that the listings you get will show you beds as well as couch beds potentially so make sure you read everything before booking!

    Step 5: Any Other Filters?

This can be things such as: is there a kitchen? Wi-fi? Pet-friendly? Keep in mind that any filter you add will help to narrow down your results. Try to also only add necessary filters if you don’t have that many options available. You can always remove a filter if you find that your results are too narrow.

Step 6: What is Your Budget?

You can narrow down the list of possibilities by a price per night scale. Air BnB will also show you the average amount per night for that area. Keep in mind that if price is a major player then a shared space or common area will be much cheaper than getting the whole apartment or house.

Other Things To Keep In Mind:

    • The time of year you’re traveling
    • How far in advance you are booking (the farther out the better)
    • The ratings and reviews of your host. Try to find SuperHosts and the most ratings/reviews possible.
    • Air BnB also now includes Experiences that you can add onto your trip. Check them out and see if any tickle your fancy
