    Top 10 Travel Essentials

    Hello, Adventurers!

I’ve been managing to get a lot of blogging done during this trip to Ireland! Hopefully you all are enjoying the new reading material and have been thinking of new adventures you’d like to take soon 🙂

As always, let me know in the comments below what you’re thinking and if you have any ideas for new content!

    #1: A Good Suitcase

I’ve already mentioned this is some previous posts, but the new Away luggage is really blowing my mind. I was able to pack for 11 days in Ireland in just one carryon sized suitcase! I honestly probably could have even added a little bit more to the bag (which may end up happening after a shopping spree at Pennys!)

    #2: Bar Shampoo and Conditioner

Lush has these amazing shampoo and condition bars in all sorts of smells for all types of hair. They are great even when you’re not traveling since they don’t require packaging and last a VERY long time. Good for the environment and good for traveling? Yes please!

    #3: A Quality Travel Pillow

I think I may have already mentioned this one a while back, but I continue to sing it’s praises. I got it from Target, but it is also available (in a variety of colors) from Amazon too

    #4: A Travel Credit Card

I personally use the Citibank American Airlines card, but there are tons of others available as well. I have a bunch of friends who use the Chase one and also like it.

Basically, you’re looking for a card that:

    • Doesn’t have any foreign transaction fees
    • Is able to get you cash from any ATM
    • Is widely accepted
    • Can get you some sort of perk such as airline miles/cash back/points/etc…

If you don’t like credit cards then see if there is a way to get a debit card with the same kind of perks. I didn’t have a travel card the first time I went traveling by myself and it ended up costing me about $100 in fees by the end of the trip. I HATE paying fees!

    #5: Foldable backpack/bag

Sooooo many different options here depending on the type of traveling that you’re doing. If it’s an outdoorsy type of adventure then I would look for a waterproof (not resistant) foldable backpack like this. I got this for my next trip to Iceland and I’m really excited to try it out!

If it’s more just to carry an unexpected shopping spree then I would suggest this from Longchamp

If it’s just a sightseeing backpack then I would suggest this from Longchamp

    #6: Dual Voltage Flat Iron

I use the Iconic Flat Iron and LOVE IT. It can straighten OR curl your hair, gets very hot very quickly, and can be used either in the US or abroad. Perfect for daily life as well as travel. (In a pinch you can also use it to iron wrinkly clothes, but BE CAREFUL!)

    #7: Wet Wipes

Good for everything. Taking off your makeup, running out of toilet paper, spills on the go, just freshening up in general. I buy a few travel packs and stash them in all bags.

    #8: Headphones

I usually carry the ones that came with my iPhone since for whatever reason Apple hates us and made that new port on the most recent several generations. I also carry my Bose Noise-Cancelling headphones to use on the plane or whenever I just want to block everything out.

    #9: Tablet

I used to have the Samsung Tab, but that finally gave up the ghost and I received the Amazon Fire for my latest birthday. However, my friend just showed me all of the cool things you can do on the iPad Pro andddd my phone company said when I upgrade my phone I can get an iPad for only $30…. soooo we will see what happens with that.

The tablet is great because you don’t need to take a huge laptop with you everywhere OR 500 books (if you are me). It can fit literally fit basically everything you need into a much smaller scale saving you very precious souvenir space.

    #10: Cross-Body Purse

I am currently using a gold, Michael Kors number, but depending on the situation I also have a very cheap blue one from Target that can also do the job. Since it’s cheap I don’t care if I spill things on it or it gets scuffed.

Obviously, not all of these would be applicable to everyone, but this is what I need when I travel (especially abroad!)

    Happy Reading!
