    2021 Reflections and 2022 Goals

Happy New Year, everyone! In an effort to be posting more often, I thought I’d clue you in on some exciting things happening over here on The Savvy Adventure as well as recap the past year!

I hope you all had a great holiday season and are happy and healthy. I’m currently a little under the weather, but definitely on the mend thank God. I wanted to take a few moments before talking about my new goals to reflect on all of the amazing things that happened in my life the past year. As an enneagram 3 I tend to only focus on the future and what is coming up, but it really serves me (as well as everyone in their own lives) to reflect on all of the good/bad things that have happened and how far we have come.

2021 Accomplishments, Celebrations, and Items of Note:

    • Had my Tummy Tuck/BBL in May
    • Learned who my real friends are
    • Got to live in Miami for a month
    • Took a social-distanced road trip to New Mexico and Colorado
    • Turned 30!
    • Attended/Organized/Was in 3 different weddings
    • Took a road trip to San Antonio for a friend’s wedding
    • Survived the power grid failure at a friend’s house
    • Got a new job
    • Finally got to see Green Day in concert
    • Finally got to see Pitbull in concert
    • Kept in contact with friends all over the world through social media/Marco Polo/Whatsapp
    • Tried some new restaurants
    • Read a bunch of books for my book club and personal choices
    • My sister got engaged
    • Had a slab leak at the house
    • Continued to sell on Poshmark
    • Travelled to Asheville, NC for my friend’s bachelorette party
    • Cooked a ton of new recipes
    • Got vaccinated and boosted!
    • Did iFly with my mom and sister for our birthdays
    • Celebrated at some baby showers
    • Celebrated 3 years of post-VSG!
    • Was a guest on my friend’s podcast, “How to Get Better at Business with Travis Richards”.

After the past few years of making resolutions and goals I am learning to be more cautious about relying on other people to help achieve goals, or relying on outside influences in general. I can’t have “travel to 5 countries” as an item if the US is listed as a dangerous place to fly from! This year I’ve tried to stick with things that I only really need to rely on myself for, which I think sets me up for success in a much better way.

    2022 Goals

    • Get some more certifications for work
    • Launch my business (more to come on this!!)
    • Get a French bulldog puppy
    • Read a book a week
    • Try the curly girl method (it’s a hair thing)
    • Do my Duolingo every day
    • Stop buying so much goo (skincare/hair/body products that I don’t need)
    • Stop overbuying at the grocery store
    • Get ripped (abs)
    • + several other items….

I may have alluded to this in the past, but I have been using a lot of 2021 to work on launching another side hustle idea that I hope to one day turn into my full-time career. I have been a Scrum Master and Agile Coach for awhile, but always working under other people. I am taking my knowledge that typically is used to help IT Project teams and repurposing it to help non-IT people achieve their own goals and dreams in everyday life. There is still more to come as I finish up the last little bit of background work before I can launch, but I am so excited to get to share this with everyone. I’ve been working hard on this for so long and the launch should be in the next few weeks!

I always love to hear what others are working on and encourage you in whatever your goals are so feel free to share those in the comments!

Happy New Year and Happy Reading!
