    Self Care Saturday

    Good Morning Everyone!

If you read my January post you know that self care and reducing my stress levels are really important to me this year. I have PCOS (which I am going to explain in more detail in a future post) and with that comes a slew of fun side effects, which are greatly managed by reducing stressers in your life.

What Self Care looks like for me:

    • Going to Yoga
    • Deep Conditioning my hair (which means I have to stay home and relax)
    • Not over-scheduling myself/staying home more
    • Drinking non-caffeinated tea (in fact, removing all caffeine from my life)
    • Eating clean (Paleo)/Cooking for myself/Going grocery shopping
    • Cuddling with my dog
    • Diffusing essential oil and using them on myself and around my house
    • Reading more
    • Getting enough sleep/sleeping at normal times
    • Spending time with friends and people that lift you up
    • Cleaning
    • Have a dance party by myself in my house/car
    • Taking my meds/vitamins
    • Doing a face mask
    • Taking a nice hot shower or a long soak in the tub
    • Taking a walk outside with Karma
    • Get some Vitamin D – whatever that means for you

Do I follow all of these 100% of the time? No, but I am working on it. Self Care is not a one-time deal; Life is a marathon, not a sprint 😉

Today I didn’t have to work so I slept in, took a shower and got ready, took Karma on a walk, made myself a healthy breakfast, and made my essential oil capsules for the week. Later I have to go to the eye doctor, then I get to see some of my friends, go to a (late) Passover Seder, and hopefully go to bed not super late.

Does that sound like the Saturday of a typical 20-something? Probably not, but I’ve got goals to reach and you don’t get there by doing things that most people do.

Hope this gave you some encouragement about your own self-care! Comment below on other ideas for things you can do regularly to improve your own stress levels!

    Happy Reading!
