Packing List for Iceland

Having just spent a week in Iceland and experiencing all of the different types of weather (some all in one day!) that Iceland has to offer, I decided to make a packing list in case you were concerned about being prepared for your next adventure!

I went in September, which is when the Northern Lights start to appear in the sky! While it was cloudy most nights, we were able to see them VERY clearly really late on our third night!

Our weather varied from sunny and warm (around 60 degrees) to very rainy/windy/cold (probably around 40). We were hiking in mountains, touching glaciers, and everything in the middle. The weather can change very quickly on you, so you need to be prepared at the very least for cold and rain.  We went for a week of hiking, going out, and swimming in the Blue Lagoon.

Below is what I packed:

I ended up not using my straightener the whole time, but I traveled with other girls and they used it. I usually volunteer to bring mine since its dual voltage and won’t burn out in other countries the way Chi’s or other brands can. Our Air Bnb actually came equipped with a washer/dryer, hair dryer/straightener, and tons of adaptors.

I would just say the key is layers. I tend to get warm so I wanted to be able to peel some stuff off and be ok.  In reality I ended up adding more and more layers as the days went by and it got colder; granted, I was also sick.

Let me know in the comments if you have any questions or brought something that I missed that you loved!

Happy Reading!
